This was the first time using the probe and could not be happier with the results. Set up took a few minutes since it was my first time it wanted to go through a quick tutorial. Set it up for medium rare and the steak came out perfect. I also used my usual timer method (4 minutes per side) as a comparison and it might have taken a minute longer for it to reach temperature but the steak came out a perfect medium rare. Particularly like the fact that not only do you get the temperature of the meat you are cooking but also the ambient temperature as well. I did redline the ambient temperateure part of the probe but it was near the end of the cooking and I had placed the probe directly over a flame-up and will not make that mistake again.

Had two of these and worked great for about 4-6 months, loved them, thought they were fantastic, especially for doing pork butt. Then, the probes would not connect. Replaced the batteries in the base, deleted the app and reinstalled, NOTHING. Frustration, then in the trash and now in search of a new system.

We grill, rotisserie, or smoke at least four to five nights a week. Since receiving this as a Christmas present, it has become a vital component for me. So easy to use, it just works, and the support is Above-and-Beyond. After many uses, I had an issue with the ambient temperature not reading correctly. The Customer Service team was quick to respond and replace the unit. For Christmas this year, I asked Santa for the MEATER block to take my grilling skills even further to perfection. The online videos are very helpful too. I love the extended range by daisy-changing with another iPhone or iPad for greater distance, plus it's so easy to set-up and it just works.
