The brace is lightweight and easy to put on and take off, as there are only 3 buckles. When I sleep on my back, it keeps the covers from pressing on my toes and I wake without that sharp heel pain from plantar fasciitis. When sleeping on my side, it is just a little less effective, but that may be because I leave it a little bit loose. I would buy it again, if it ever wears out. Vendor delivered it timely as promised.

My plantar fasciitis started in both feet when I took statins prescribed by my doctor. I know this, as I was put through several different statin trials trying to find one that works . My cholesterol numbers are only slightly elevated and the process seemed more like a sales pitch rather than a treatment. Each statin caused leg pain on different levels and all of them resulted in bilateral plantar fasciitis . Only after this last trial my right foot won’t recover. This boot works for me as long as I put the lowest and middle strap on snug so my heal stays down. I fasten the top strap almost as tight depending on the night and sock I’m using. Thins socks work better for me but your mileage may vary. My Achilles tendon felt loose after the first night but I guess that means it’s working. I also started taking magnesium citrate which seems to help. Some nights it works better than others but I suppose it could be the activity on that day. It’s not a cure but a treatment. I’m still trying to find a shoe or insole that will resolve this.

This is really a 3.5 star rating. As a night splint this works well and as awkward as it is to wear one, it keeps my foot in the proper position while I sleep. My biggest frustration is the placement of the clasps if you are wearing it on a right foot. The clasps are on the outer side of the leg and can’t be repositioned. They are very difficult to close because of where they are located. In order for the splint to work properly, it must fit well against the leg so you can’t keep the straps loose and slide your foot in and out of the splint. If the clasps could be positioned on the inside of the leg, this would be a fantastic product.
