This really is a great way to keep a record of the colors you use on a project. Its also a great way to see specific palettes used by different artists. Its a great way to compare color made by different companies so can refer back to it. And its pretty to look at afterward.

I am new to the watercolor world and as I build up my supplies I noticed that not all of the watercolor sets include a swatch card. Since I am not familiar with the colors by sight only. I found this diary on line and it is perfect for my needs.

Its a canvas paper which is helpful when knowing exactly what a paint would appear like in real art work. Its sturdy and has a lot of room for notes. I have all three styles and use the container to file them all. Great investment

This Painter's Color Swatch Book is genius! The pages can be removed easily to record the title of the painting, and every color incorporated into that creation. The provided spaces for labeling each color swatch are time-savers for future mixing to achieve the exact color needed. Once dry, place the page back into the book for future reference - fantastic! I will definitely purchase this product again and again when needed.

I love these swatch books. I have used swatch chips in the past and did not like the way I had them organized. These books make swatching convenient and easy. There have been questions and reviews saying these are not for watercolors. However, those customers chose the wrong book. There is a choice for watercolors that is made of 100 percent cotton watercolor paper. It works great and is worth every penny. The book for Oils/Acrylics is made of a coated stock(which is not compatible with watercolors)--so make sure you purchase the correct item and you will be delighted. The 9x12 size is large enough to hold quite a few swatches on each page(10 pages), yet is portable enough to take about in a larger tote bag. I have one book organized by manufacturer and one by pigment group. I received my books as a birthday gift and I highly recommend them.

Too slick for watercolor. My watercolors pilled up. Would be fine for acrylic. I put watercolor on it and wiped all color off since it didn't soak into paper.

I primarily work in watercolors, and am always on the lookout for new tools to make my life easier. This pad seemed like a pretty great addition to my arsenal, since I heavily rely on my swatches and mixing.The paper consists of 10 spiralbound pages of 290gsm canvas style paper, and is heavily textured (more textured than cold or rough pressed watercolor paper), and each page is separated with a sheet of tracing paper. Each page is printed with 40 rectangular boxes into which you can swatch your colors. The paper and pad is of excellent quality, although I feel it lends itself best for heavier media, such as acrylics and oil paints, due to the type of paper used. I would love to see an equivalent using actual watercolor paper. I wish the product description had been more transparent.
