I love these swatch books. I have used swatch chips in the past and did not like the way I had them organized. These books make swatching convenient and easy. There have been questions and reviews saying these are not for watercolors. However, those customers chose the wrong book. There is a choice for watercolors that is made of 100 percent cotton watercolor paper. It works great and is worth every penny. The book for Oils/Acrylics is made of a coated stock(which is not compatible with watercolors)--so make sure you purchase the correct item and you will be delighted. The 9x12 size is large enough to hold quite a few swatches on each page(10 pages), yet is portable enough to take about in a larger tote bag. I have one book organized by manufacturer and one by pigment group. I received my books as a birthday gift and I highly recommend them.

Too slick for watercolor. My watercolors pilled up. Would be fine for acrylic. I put watercolor on it and wiped all color off since it didn't soak into paper.

I took a little time deciding how I wanted to organize my paint samples. I can easily spend a day in my studio making paint charts, mixing, samples, swatches, blends. I love it. When I saw this book I was thrilled, because I'm the sort of person that will scrap a whole sample page because my lines are not even. So having the sample pages already set up is my dream come true. I would use this again, in fact I'm considering buying one for each medium I work with. Nice thick pages, no bleeding through. Can handle thick swaths of paint or very wet pet. Pretty happy with this book.

Made from good materials. Beats ruling pages myself. A good way to organize colors. Have bought again and recommended to others. Just wish it was a bit cheaper.

I primarily work in watercolors, and am always on the lookout for new tools to make my life easier. This pad seemed like a pretty great addition to my arsenal, since I heavily rely on my swatches and mixing.The paper consists of 10 spiralbound pages of 290gsm canvas style paper, and is heavily textured (more textured than cold or rough pressed watercolor paper), and each page is separated with a sheet of tracing paper. Each page is printed with 40 rectangular boxes into which you can swatch your colors. The paper and pad is of excellent quality, although I feel it lends itself best for heavier media, such as acrylics and oil paints, due to the type of paper used. I would love to see an equivalent using actual watercolor paper. I wish the product description had been more transparent.
