I had to go hide behind my tent and hold my hands around the burner area. It was somewhat windy but typical for the mountains. My old cheap burner usually had no issues but this did not want to stay lit. However the speed of boiling water is a Gamechanger.

I do a lot of backpacking but I also now use this for my work to heat up copy or hot chocolate.

My wife and I backpack a great deal, and the Jetboil most assuredly makes our trips better. Lightweight, and boils water in a jaw-dropping two minutes. Love it.

I had originally bought another brand, but after using another scout's Jetboil... I was sold. The nice grip, temp orange reader and just the quality was great. Love it!!

I purchased a Jetboil Flash a few years ago and am still impressed how fast this stove boils water. After using the stove on 3 trips, the ignitor suddenly failed to light the stove. In my original review I mention this. I had read that the tiny wire that emanates from the ignitor can easily get bent during packing. If it is too close to the burners, it will not ignite the gas. To remedy this you can gently bend the wire a bit further out. I tried this just now and now the ignitor works again. The wire is relatively exposed so this might be the cause if you are having problems with the ignitor. Hope this helps.

My husband first saw this product on a hunting trip where there was no electricity in the area. He said they might have starved or frozen to death without it since they found very little firewood, too. After that, our sons both wanted one for Christmas! Maybe get the model which doesn't require matches to light, though.
