The 3 valve Ford Triton Insert Kit is designed to aid in therepair of a common problem in the Ford Triton family ofmotors. More specifically, 3-valve 5.4 L and 6.8 L enginesbuilt before 10/9/07 and 3-valve 4.6 L engines built before11/30/07 found in many 2004-2008 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury.
In the above models a common problem is the spark plugtends to break off in the cylinder head during maintenance.If this problem is not repaired properly, it can result indamaged or unusable spark plug threads and in extreme casesthe possibility of a spark plug blow out.This kit will allow the user, with simple step by stepinstructions, to repair those damaged threads or blowouts in30 minutes or less per cylinder.

This tool applies when your spark plug breaks leaving metal (threads) in the cylinder head. Buy a 1/2 inch bit and drill out the old threads and porcelain. Use the guide tool and avoid getting into the spark plug tip which could fall into the cylinder. Use the reamer to bore out the aluminum cylinder head. Then, tap and install the thread insert. At this point you can pull the tip using the Lisle 65700 tool. If the old spark plug metal collar remains stuck in the head, use an extractor or sharp drill bit to pull it out. And finally you can install the new plug. The M16x1.5 insert is the same size internally as the original threads. Five stars if the kit included a drill bit and instructions.

The product is not what it says it is. The tool is wrong for both the 4.6 or 5.4 in the year 04 to 06. Huge waste of money, cost me more time and money to get the right parts and tooling to fix it right. Don't waste your money

Was easy to install. Didn't quit fix my problem but I believe that's a ford manufacturer failure not this item.

Website Listed for my vehicle, but mechanic said it is not. Their year is off. When I entered ‘2004. It said it was a match but I was sent kit for ‘2003 vehicle
