Since I came back into collecting Breyer horses after 25 years away from it, they have REALLY stepped up their sculpting and paint and this guy is no different.I was hesitant about this model - something about the photos made it look unaesthetic, but when I got the horse in hand and looked with my eyes, suddenly it was obvious that this is a very well crafted model.I bought it because I was notified this one is being retired this year, so I took a chance.

I saw this model horse earlier this year and had to wait to purchase him. He is worth the wait! I love the black coloring with a blue-ish tint. His face is adorable. I also love the story about the real horse. I admire this model horse each day. Get him! Perfect gift for the horse lover in your life.

This is a gorgeous portrait model.He's a Shagya Arabian,so he doesn't have the super-dished profile that's become so popular in the Arabian horse world,and has a sturdier build,also a characteristic of Shagyas.I love the dynamic pose,and he balances well,too;some models that depict a horse in motion can be tipsy,and can lose paint after falling repeatedly,but I've had my guy for a while now and he's steady on his feet.So while he may not look like your typical Arabian,he's beautiful and striking and I am very happy to have him in my collection.

This Breyer is gorgeous! The only thing is that with some models, the Breyer company doesn't pay attention to the horse breed and the model they're applying it to. This model doesn't look at all like an Arabian, which he's supposed to be. However, I wanted him because he's so beautiful. I love the detail in the hooves, and the chestnuts on the legs! So cool!
