Outstanding little torch. Use for silver soldering small art projects. Prefer it over my electric irons.

Feels more like a tool than a toy. So many of these butane torches are total junk made in China and probably cost $1/each to manufacture. The JB Chef one I got and immediately returned after it broke immediately is an example. Although this one doesn't say anywhere that I can see on the device that it's made in Japan, it feels much more durable and utilitarian than the others. All metal moving parts, very nice rubber diamond pattern grip, easy adjustments. Ignore all the other culinary torches made in China. This is the one you want, and it's worth the extra few bucks.

From the picture you would think this would be a 1 Star review but I’ve had this torch for over 3 years and have been using it daily for dabbing.. hands down the best most durable butane torch that I’ve used. Just ordered another as this one just broke because I’ve dropped it hundreds of times. the tip usually bends down a tiny bit when I drop it and I bend it back but this time I bent it back a little too far and it finally broke.

I've had this torch since long before it was known as the gb2001 (old p/n 4597732) and is has been great for the past 21 years (yes...years, not months !). When I bought it, it was used daily for rewiring commercial delivery trucks. And never failed to light or to give a crisp flame. A bit of advice...when filling these, open the fuel valve at the top slightly until torch is full. Then ignite torch & let burn for 30 seconds to 1 minute before use (after each fill).

Great tool that actually does what it is supposed to do. A little pricey, but worth every cent. Easily adjust from soft blue flame to pinpoint sharp. My second one, first one got destroyed by no fault of torch, and I am so happy to have one again. Reliable and comfortable to use.

This is my second GB2001. I bought it because I believe it is the best, most durable and reliable self-igniting torch available. My first GB2001 failed after around six years of light to moderate use. A seal failed and flames would shoot up from the top of the torch as well as the front. At the Blazer website, I saw that I could return my out-of-warranty torch for repair or replacement for $26. But, that turned out not to be true. I got a phone call from the service center and was told my torch was not repairable, and they would return my $26 check and my torch. So what they meant was they will only replace a torch that is still under warranty, but they will repair an out-of-warranty torch for $26, as long as they deem it repairable. Despite that issue, the GB2001 is still the best, in my opinion.

Not as hot as needed, flame comes out around sides of main flame. Loses flame size control easily. Seems to run only on expensive Blazer fuel not available locally so must send for it.

I have used it only a few times, and this coated metal piece protecting the fuel line has melted to the point I'm afraid to keep using it.

It was recommended and did not hold up long AT ALL. Won't keep butane in it. Won't recharge with butane. Seriously disappointed

The piezo lighter has been finicky from day one. Other than that this torch is my go to for small brazing, soldering, heat shrink wraps, rope cutting, and small part heating.
