I bought this specifically for my bikini area, and I'm so glad I did! I don't usually read manufacturer directions, but this time it was a must to save myself discomfort. I tweaked my process a little by rubbing a little oil on the area 30 min before (always seems to make the area to twiz less sensitive for me) and used shower gel on the epilator as well as rubbed some on skin. Turned out as good as waxing.

I find the epilation head a real pain to clean, it's difficult to pull the hairs one by one from the tweezers. The latch holding the heads on is somewhat finnicky, and the plastic guard for the shaver head comes off much too easily. Despite these, it does what it's meant to do. Has difficulties with shorter, thinner hair, but I wax those anyway. i wouldn't recommend any sort of bikini work with this, unless you have high pain tolerance and decent flexibility.

I've used the Philips Santinelle, Philips 8000 and the Braun Silk Epil 9. They all didn't last long and hurt but I was surprised how much less pain the Panasonic makes me feel. I highly recommend it.

I've been using this for several months. It's absolutely wonderful.The first time I used it I had done my research, but I could not finish because it was too painful. It took so long I had to charge it twice.I realize now that I had let my hair grow out too much. I found a better way to exfoliate, and I firmly tighten my skin with my free hand. I'm glad I stuck it out.I can get everything done now in 30 minutes with a third of the discomfort. It's worth it for not dealing with hair for a week (sometimes longer).
