We have a bio orb for a goldfish. The filter itself is easy to change. Not expensive. Comes with a wiping cloth for the plastic tank, water conditioner, and filter.

Hope you didnt get the small rocks and put them in there like I did! They get stuck and make it hard to remove the old filter and place a new one in. Go ahead and invest in the larger river rocks if the ones that came with your tank are too abrasive for your fish. All in all, I love how easy it is to change the tank filter. Without me having to hand pick all the tiny rocks out of the way, the change honestly could have taken seconds.

This filter is hard to find in a store. It is for the Biorb fish tank in my classroom. It helps keep the tank clean and is super easy to put in and remove.

It's a fish filter. It does it's job. Why the hell it is inset in the bottom of the tank and not through the middle of the tube or something I don't know. It is a pain in the arse to keep the rocks out and get the base snapped back in. And if you have a planted tank, which is hard but doable, it's really hard to see and make sure you aren't hurting any of your animals. If the base portion was a little higher or the bottom half of the tub instead of the base it would be easier and just as effective.

After neglecting my aquarium with inconsistent maintenance and occasional over feeding, I put this on subscription to remind me when it is time to take care of my finned friends. After just two months, my aquarium is about 1/3 as nasty as when I started. (Seriously, I suddenly realized that my fish would be perfectly justified if they died on me, though they didn't. They deserve so much better!) Once I had all the tools in place, it takes me less than 10 minutes to get the replacement water ready the day before, 3 minutes to change the filter and another 15 to “vacuum” and change the water. I'm going to be a much better keeper from now on.

Rest if you have a bioprb. But a little expensive. Although all of this companys stuff is a bit over priced. Why?

Obviously there is no other solution available if you have a BiOrb tank.So it is what it is. Luckily, the cartridge system works very well.So there is not much to complain about. My only gripe is the frequency of change they recommend. Seems too often to me.Kinda like getting a Keurig coffee setup. Your stuck with the system and the pods. But, it's a good filtration system that works well.
