I use this while camping and traveling in my car as a toilet when I'm not close to a bathroom. I lay a puppy pad on the car seat with the bedpan on top. Next, I put a plastic bag over the bedpan and put a cut up puppy pad in the bottom to absorb liquids. When finished, I tie it shut and dispose of the whole bag into the garbage just like you would for a disposable diaper. It's very sturdy and high enough to use sitting up. I tried others that weren't as sturdy before I found this one. Happy traveling for us women!

This is exactly what you need in a bed pan.One thing that might be a problem is that the the bottom is very, very smooth so if you use it on a smooth inclined surface it will start to slide forward.
