This product was easy to assemble for me, a five foot tall female, by myself. I did get some pieces installed backward and had to redo a little because I was skimming over the directions and didn't notice that I needed to have them with the finished side facing up.Also, they do not include spare hardware (except brad nails) so I took a star for that as one of the screw receptacle thingies (the part with the philips that the stud goes into and you turn it) broke on installation. Fortunately I am still able to use the unit.It will hold my dvd collection and not fall over and it looks decent once it's filled, which is all I ask of it, so that's all I can say about sturdiness. It's not like it's made out of wood with dovetail joints. You will need at least a 2 philips screwdriver or apex bit mounted to drill/driver (maybe a 3 also but I was able to get by with just the 2), a ball peen hammer, and a good sized space at least the length of the unit to assemble.
