I love this leaf net. We live in the woods with a large maple, catalpa, and hickory well within 50 feet or less. It was always a messy job scooping the decayed leaves of the winter cover in the spring.After the trees were pretty much bare last fall I pulled this off, gave it a shake and viola, no leaves on the winter cover. (I did put it back on for those wind borne strays over the winter.)

I bought this to keep the leaves out of our pool towards the end of summer but it has been most beneficial in the off season. We put this on top of our winter cover and put a small pump in between the two. The pump is able to suck out the water on top of the cover without getting clogged with leaves. After the leaves have fallen for the year, we peeled this cover back and dumped all of the leaves out and then put it back on. No decaying leaf smell, no swamp on top of our pool cover, just a clean cover. It seems like it would be delicate, but it is actually pretty sturdy. I would try not to snag it on anything and you should be fine.

This product may be great for leaves but not pine needles. I have a few pine trees in my back yard and was hoping this would keep them off my pool. It doesn't work for pine needles. If anything it makes it worse. The pine needled get all tied up in the netting and it is impossible to get them off even using a gas leaf blower. I just gave up.So for leaves good product, for pine needles, not-so-much.

I bought this in hopes that I can get the leaves to not fall into the pool with the water. It looks to be well made and comes with a nice metal ratchet instead of the cheap plastic ones I have had in the past which break easily. It is also plenty large for the pool so it does not fasten up at the top where the wind will pull at it, but much lower on the sides. It fits right over the solid pool cover nicely.
