It has a nominal filtration rating of 10 microns at an efficiency of 85%. The filter will reduce free available chlorine (FAC) at 2 parts per million (ppm) by at least 50% in up to 225 gallons at a flow rate of 1 gallon per minute (gpm). The cartridge is made of carbon-impregnated polyester media pleated around a rigid polypropylene core with plastisol end caps for strength and resistance to bacteria. It has an initial pressure drop of 2 pounds per square inch (psi) at a recommended flow rate of 3 gallons per minute (gpm), and operates over a temperature range of 40 to 125 degrees F (4.4 to 51.7 degrees C). This filter cartridge is for use in rural, residential, and municipal drinking water purification.SpecificationsNominal filtration rating 10 micronsInitial pressure drop at 3 gpm 2 psiChlorine reduction capacity 225 gallons at 1 gpmTemperature range 40 to 125 degrees F (4.4 to 51.7 degrees C)Maximum dimensions (H x W) 9-3/4 x 2-1/2 inches (248 x 64 mm)The nominal filtration rating is for a particle removal efficiency of 85%. Carbon traps funky tastes and smells, pleats keep the water pressure high and the surface area exponentially higher than standard filters. And you can reuse it if you pressure wash it carefully.
