It is made of coconut shell based granular activated carbon (GAC) and polyphosphate crystal media in a polypropylene body with polypropylene pre- and post-filters. The filter will reduce free available chlorine (FAC) in up to 1,700 gallons of water at a flow rate of 0.75 gallon per minute (gpm). The filter has a maximum operating pressure of 125 pounds per square inch (psi), and a maximum operating temperature of 100 degrees F (37.8 degrees C). This carbon filter cartridge is used for treatment of residential and commercial drinking water.SpecificationsChlorine reduction capacity 1,700 gallons at 0.75 gpmMaximum pressure 125 psiMaximum temperature 100 degrees F (37.8 degrees C)Maximum dimensions (H x W) 20 x 4-1/2 inches (508 x 114 mm)H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.Water filters remove undesirable particles, chemicals, and microorganisms from water by means of a semipermeable barrier, adsorption, or biological processes.
