I am very hard of hearing, so I do not hear normal alarm clocks. However, I can set this timer, strap it to my wrist, and the vibration will awaken me at the time I've set. The timer comes with a belt clip but no wrist strap. I was able to make a wrist strap that works fine, but I would have preferred for it have come with one to begin with (which would have gotten it 5 stars).
