Saw BOB for a lot more money in other places. This BOB doesn't have a full back like the one our MMA instructor uses, but I don't think that will be much of a problem unless you want to hit BOB in the back. We followed our instructor's suggestion and filled with kitty litter instead of water or sand. I'm afraid of the base leaking water someday like one equipment our instructor has, and kitty litter was just cheap and readily available. This particular BOB was missing two sets of screws & washers, but ACE Hardware carried some for under a dollar. The only problem is that BOB often sits in the shadows in an unused part of the foyer when not in use, and for the first month or two I'd catch him in the corner of my eye and get a little jump thinking someone was standing there. I did get used to that, and now he's just part of the family. :)

Great product. Bought loctite for bolts, took a few minutes to bolt together. Used tube sand to fill cut funnel no prob (use two people for sand part) . On mat on concrete, doesnt move. Box was all tore up on arrival but product perfect.

Gives me a workout but I have to admit I only go at it about twice a week. Muscle bound guy so his chest tends to protrude, chin is small and even with the chest so you tend to graze the chest on some facial kicks. Filled base with sand, used refined sand that cost about $1.50 a bag more then play sand, should have used play sand and saved a couple of bucks.

My boyfriend absolutly loves it and it arrived on time with no problems at all and was in perfect shape.

Decent piece of fitness equipment to add to our home gym. Sturdy. Have to get the sand to stabilize it, but am looking forward to using it! Looks like it's made well. Shipping time was great!

I have used a heavy bag for years and love the workout, but I have to say this is a great supplement to up your training for self defense. The material it's made out of is tough and extremely durable. The lifelike size of the body and the ability to adjust the height is perfect for helping you target your strikes for more lifelike targeting. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that the whole thing of filling the base with water and the sloshing when you hit it is a little annoying and distracting at times, but honestly this is a great product and I am so glad I bought it.

I wanted the BOB after I first tries it out at a local retailer. Having it at home is great! What a workout! The hight adjust feature makes customizing easy. I made mine 6' tall, which just gets you ready for a taller opponent. Unlike traditional heavy bags, you really get a feel for actually hitting another person ie; the angle of the punch and timming. Great buy!

I like that the equipment has the shape of a human being and it makes as a great learning tool, to show nd teach were your target area's exist when teaching certain techniques and strikes.The only drawback is that the equipment is not a full figure of a person, there is no bottom half.

The material used is kind of rough. You definitely need gloves. Do not let small children play with this in their bare hands.

Was given BOB for Christmas and it's perfect for stress release! I can't stress that enough. : )As others have stated, the base tends to move with every couple of strikes. Filled mine up with water and even after placing 3 rubber mats under the base it still moves requiring readjustment. My corporate Gym bought one of these. It is really a lot of fun and takes a hit well. You can adjust the height to big tall muscular dude or short muscular dude. It takes kicks, hits, whatever you throw at it. But you know, that didn't last. All it took was a few disrespectful guys with monster kicks and blows and the silicone ripped away right round the nuts that hold the back to the base. The guys really abuse the equipment. I've seen them on the bags jump in the air like a movie towards the bag and beat down on the head. Har har har, and now we don't have Bob to beat on any more. The bags can take a beating like these guys give, but Bob couldn't.Bob was only around for a few months and half that time with a zip-tie fix. The gym tried to zip tie with new holes and cobble Bob back together but I think he eventually ripped and ended up in the dumpster because he's gone.In short, if I were a gym I wouldn't spend the hundreds on this. It'll break. But if I have the $ personally (or you're a karate gym where there is discipline, supervision, and people respect the equipment), it is a lot of fun and you can really do well with it.

This is absolutely the cheapest price I could find for it at $229 with tax included. I beat the crap out of it daily. I am very glad i decided to purchase and would do it again. No workout is comparable.

I bought backpacking equiptment a few weeks ago. But still.This bob has taken multiple rigorous beatings from multiple people of varying sizes. A friend of mine that used it is 265bls. It is very sturdy. Here's what you do:1.) Buy the bob online or at Sports Store2.) Go to home depot. Get locktite for permenantly fixing the screws3.) While at home depot, pick up 4 X 50lbs bags of sand. (just a few dollars each)4.) Put together. Get yourself a nice sized funnel. Saw off the small end with a hacksaw until the opening is the same size as the bob's5.) Use duct tape to secure the funnel to the bob. (you imagine the sand will easily pour into the bob, but it won't, because when you buy the sand it will more than likely be a little damp, and it will clump)6.) Make sure the bob is in a spot you want to keep it. Shovel sand into funnel with a hand shovel, have the hand shovel or stick ready to jab down the sand into the whole when it clumps. Have patience. Because of the clumping sand, this takes awhile.7.) Light a dubey. (washington and colorado residents only)8.) Fill the bob completely with water - this will give the bob about a 250+lbs base if you didn't dump the sand everywhereHope this helps. Enjoy your bob.
