Three stars because I know I probably got a defective product from an otherwise good company. My BOB broke three times after two uses. Apparently I'm either Bruce Lee, or a defect allowed me to punch the screws right out of the product, leaving the metal housings intact, but ripping the threading right out. Might need to look at this product to address possible issues with other ones in my production batch.

Excellent quality, easy to build. I've done martial arts for more than half my life and this is the best piece of training equipment I've had (short of a real sparring partner, of course). It's great no matter your skill level or preferred style, although you should definitely wear wraps when training!

love it. easy to assemble and built tough. not to confuse this thing with a heavy bag, though... many martial artists appreciate BOB for practicing accuracy, control and technique. mine is filled with water while the one we use at the dojang has pebbles in the base. lots of fun to work with.

I love it, I took a black marker and dotted all the pressure points, I get an AWESOME WORKOUT ON THIS THING! VERY WELL CONSTRUCTED!

I've had this for a while now and have been punching, elbowing, kneeing and kicking it. Seems to be holding up pretty well. I used pebbles in the base instead of sand or water. The last thing you want is mold growing inside the base.<br /><br />I like this because unlike a heavy bag, you can target specific areas to practice your strikes. Also, the adjustable height is awesome. Easy to change and improves the range of motion for your striking. I would recommend this to any one using a heavy bag or people who just want to improve the accuracy of their strikes.

These are amazingly tough. I have two out in my yard that have been hit with stick, stabbed, slashed, punched, kicked, and shot with bbs... and most of all it has been in the sun. It is stained black from the outdoors but there is not a tear or hole in either of them. I wish I could find a couple more used. Ideally maybe 4 would be good to work with. They are superior to punching bag and should be used for different reason. Heavy bag is better for hard hits but there is nothing like training into a neck to make your work effective. So the body shape of this is very appropriate for neural conditioning of target location. As I said, even better when moving around between two or more. Two beside a punching bag is a good combo.<br /><br />Found a photo... keep in mind these are over a decade old and the black is from the pine trees.

Came quickly but after just a few uses the threading to keep the dummy to the post stripped so only a matter of time before it falls apart this wouldn't be an issue if you got more then 3-4 sessions with it before this happened, but the adjusting heights is easy and quick, if quality was better would be a great training tool.

Works great as advertised. Material is great quality. When adjusting the heigth you have to mess with it a bit but no big deal.<br />Two things that held back a 5th star.<br />The cap did not come with a rubber seal to make sure there are no water leaks when it moves upon sriking.<br />Also the screws for assembly are large flat head. The threads and inner guide don't line up perfectly so it was difficult getting the screws in with the driver sliding out constantly. One screw just would not go in as the guide and threads were too far off. So I'm using it missing one.<br />Other than it's a great practice bag.
