The shelf arrived quickly and looks great. One down side, there were no directions but still super easy to put together.

The ladder shelf is very nice, and was fairly easy to put together. I like the dark finish and it looks great in my living room. The top tier is rather narrow, however, which is my only compliant. Overall, a good product.

After debating a long time about this unit due to the 1 star reviews, I went ahead and ordered it because it seemed to be just the right size for our bedroom. Most of the ladder/leaning type shelves are very tall, and we wanted to set a 20-inch TV on it and not be craning our necks to watch it. This bookshelf was super easy and quick to assemble. The quality is reflective of the price but it does look nice. There was only one tiny nick on a shelf that we were able to face down so it doesn't show. The finish is quite dark but I disagree with those who say it looks black. You can definitely see that it is brown. The height works well and the lower shelves will look great with some baskets to store DVDs, etc. FYI, the top shelf is narrow but we were still able to place the TV on it because it is a lightweight LCD that is very thin. You could never put something heavy on these shelves, at least not on the upper two. Bottom line, I'm glad I ordered this.

Extremely easy to assemble and supports my book/movie collection without any problems! It is well balanced and holds on carpet as well as tile without coming away from the wall from the weight, I have it loaded down fairly heavy and it has no problems (as long as you don't put 100 pounds on the top shelf).

We were looking for bookshelves for our narrow living room that would fit under some high windows we have. We looked forever and finally came across these. They are definately a dark espresso, like the other reviewers said and we were hoping for that -- they match everything else we have thank goodness! We ordered 6 (3 on each account since they won't let you order more than 3 for some reason)which is the max that will fit on that wall. Overall, they look good and seem to be holding up well. We have LOTS of books and the shelves are totally full and seem to be plenty sturdy enough. The only real complaint was that they were a real pain to put together. Not so bad if you have power drill to help with the screws, but just sort of unwieldy and not all the holes lines up so well. Clearly mass production with not a huge amount of quality control standards. But, overall, a happy purchase.

There were a few small wood defects...and it was hard to put the plugs in to cover the screws. Other than that, it's not bad for the price.
