I made this purchase for drawing (obviously) as well as practicing watercolor. Its a large enough space I can stretch the paper right on the table and put it at whatever angle feels comfortable. Set up wasn't too bad. I did it by myself and it seems real sturdy (except the drawers). The drawers are made of cloth and over time will probably sway under the weight of my paints, but I'm sure they're fine to hold a reasonable amount of pens, pencils, erasers, etc. When the time comes I'll figure out a way to make my own drawers or cut boards to make shelves...until then ONLY LIGHT WEIGHT OBJECTS IN THE DRAWERS!

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend and she absolutely loves it. Assembly was very easy and it was not missing any pieces like so many other drafting tables ( a common theme I noticed in the reviews of more other tables in this price category). The storage space is enough for your supplies assuming you to not have a ridiculous amount of art supplies.
