As other reviewers have said before, this type of heavy bag cannot replace a hanging heavy bag. Hanging heavy bags are almost always better for reasons I won't get into here, but if you can't hang a bag then this is the best freestanding bag that I've used and is worth buying. It's taller and wider than others and the base can hold 250 lbs of sand so it doesn't move easily. Plus the bag is long so you can practice low kicks without having to make any adjustments. The bag seems well made but maybe a little thin on the outside. I was worried it would tear but so far it's fine. One thing that bothers me is that, even though the bag is larger than others of this type, there's still not enough padding between the plastic core and the outside surface. With 4 oz gloves you will definitely feel that plastic core on your knuckles if you hit hard so heavy bag gloves are still recommended here. Also, I think the price should be a little less. I don't see what makes this so expensive. A B.O.B. bag costs about the same and those seem like they would be much more expensive to manufacture.I read a few reviewers saying that this is impossible to knock over, which isn't true. It's very hard to knock over but possible with a side kick. And it does slide a little even from jabs but not as bad as smaller freestanding bags.I'd like to have a hanging bag but this will do just fine. Plus it's portable.

I'm 5'7, 130lbs & this bag takes my kicks & punches with no issue. We filled the base with water (not sand) so there is slight movement across the floor after a 40 kickboxing workout. This has not been an issue. My husband who is 6', 170lbs goes to town wailing on the bag as well.

This is a good product and it enables me to do some bag work at home, so I can't complain TOO much. However, I will say that the base design is not ideal. The product calls for water or sand to fill the base, and having spoken with some other XXL owners, I was told in unequivocal terms, do NOT fill the base with sand if you ever want to move this thing again. So, given that I won't be living in my current house forever, I chose to fill the base with water.Don't get me wrong, water does the trick for the most part, but it's not great. Even if you fill the base to the brim with water, the water will slosh around when you throw big strikes and the sloshing + strike impact actually moves the base and heavy bag a little bit each time. I was hoping the bag wouldn't move at all, but again, since I can't hang anything from my ceiling in the basement and I didn't want to bother mounting something like this to the wall, this was my only option. The bag itself is pretty sturdy, though mine came with "stretch marks" (only way I can describe it) across the logo. I bought the red one, in case you're curious.Bottom line, good product, amazing that I can do bag work at home, could've been better if they put a little more thought and testing into development of the base and how to keep it completely stationary.

Let's face it... It's good to have an outlet and sometimes you have boring days at work while other days are crazy and stressful. Sometimes it's good to come home and just let it all out on something. That's what this punching bag is for. Well... not only that but it's a great workout too! I have only owned this punching bag for a few weeks and I use it about once per week. I filled the base with water and it's fairly stable. Hard jabs make it tilt and move slightly but that is to be expected. Very difficult to tip over this unit unless you run at it and tackle it. The bag tends to rotate and get loose in the base after hitting it for a few minutes so I have to rotate it back the other direction to tighten it up a bit. No biggie. I like the amount of play designed into the punching bag as it reduces the impact on your hands and wrists. This bag is best suited in a basement or garage and it makes a fair amount of noise when you hit it hard. It seems to be holding up quite well so far (just slightly wrinkled where I usually hit it) and the base is made from thick and sturdy plastic. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase!

Just got this bag about a month ago and so far I am pleased. It is a very large sturdy bag and has been able to take any punch or kick that I have thrown at it. I was looking for something to use mostly for stomp heel and toe kicks, this is perfect, my Bob XL would fall down with these kicks, but this bag is more bottom heavy and will only tip over if all the sand moves to one side, and even with that it barely tips over. One negative is that the unit will slide on hard floors and even on some mats, you need to find a good mat that has more of a non slip surface.
