These backpacks are great, pretty tough and HUGE inside. I bought one a couple of years ago, took it out of the country and on many camping trips, my wife recently got this one. The straps are well designed and the waist strap helps with the weight if you load it up.

Holds a lot and you can get in it easy and organize it nice and neatly. So that you can get to the things you need right away.

Okay, so I bought his bag about two years ago and finally used it for my first real backpacking trip about three months ago. Until now I had really used it for very short trips and light packing so the bag was always very useful for that. Unfortunately for a 3 month backpacking trip this backpack failed. I WOULD NOT recommend anyone to get this bag if you will be backpacking. There is NO BACK SUPPORT there is only padding which tends to feel like it’s not there if you have too much in your bag, the belt is up too high, and one nice tug of the strings and the top seam broke literally the first week of my trip. I had to use safety pins the rest of the trip to keep my bag together. I think it held 10kg / 22lbs just about tightly. But at that weight without back support long treks are nearly impossible and very uncomfortable.

Bought several of these for a family car camping trip with the kiddos who just left the house. Basic performance backpack with a large cavity, durable design with extra compartments for storage. The kids were able to store all that was needed for the camping trip.

Like the large capacity and outside pockets for more storage Like the various colors available.

Poor shoulder padding if you weigh your pack more than 35lbs.,Waist pads built with thin cushions - your waist in meant to carry a majority of the pack weight with less stress on your shoulders - so if you plan on putting some weight in this pack and hiking I don't recommend it.

Again this is a good pack for the RIGHT USAGE -

Entry level pack-
Car Camping - you can pack this bag up and march it to your campsite up to 100-200 yards away.
Primitive Camping - not recommended due to the light construction of the should and hip pads.

My experience - former Assistant Scout Master / over a dozen primitive 2-3 days camps / five years of car camping with scouts

Great, rugged pack. Holds everything a Boy Scout May need, plus extras. Waist belt is a little too big for my skinny 11 year old, so check that out before buying.

Very bad quality, I loved the design and feels good material, but on my second travel day, it started to unstitch from the top, as I move on, the hole became bigger. I never claim my money back!

I'm a Master Guide and Pathfinder Officer... This bag is used mostly for camping trips... it is spacious, but the quality isn't best... it's a thin material in the bottom... so soon enough you'll start to see daylight inside the bottom of your bag. But overall it's nice.

I used this backpack for a two day hike on the Appalachian Trail over the weekend. I had a little over 25 pounds in it. It held my tent and a sleeping bag a pillow and a small air mattress. I'm 5,10<br /><br />Pros:<br />Looks like something a GI Joe would use.<br /><br />lots of space.<br /><br />Lots of straps and pockets to put things in.<br /><br />Cons:<br /> The padding on the shoulders is awful.<br /><br />the padding on the waist strap is awful.<br /><br />the buckle for the waist strap is hard to clip together and the straps slip while moving.<br /><br />No matter how its packed the weight distribution is never in a comfortable spot.<br /><br />The shoulder cross strap is at throat level.<br /><br />If you're using this as a clothing only bag it's fine but for a real hike, don't bother.

I bought this for a 2 day backpacking trip to the Guadalupe Mountains when I was a broke college student. It took me up the mountain with a lot more weight than it was intended for, that said it was extremely uncomfortable and basically destroyed after that trip, 2 holes through the bottom, multiple broken straps etc. Bottom line it got me through the trip, if having a bag is going to be the difference between you going to the mountain or not go ahead and buy this, but understand you are going to realize why good quality packs have larger price tags.

It's been 2 years using this and I've taken it through several trips via almost every medium of transportation there is. It has kept my clothing, shoes, toiletry, DSLR camera gear, food... you name it.. it's been doing well. The size is great and I almost always over-pack for my trips. It's been no problem going on as carry on luggage on the several airlines I've traveled on while having it. It's been a sturdy companion. Padding in the shoulder straps and at the back are great. The straps over the side pockets allow you to tighten up on the space for a tiny bit more of a compact appearance. The issue I'm now having though, is that the bungee string at the front has loosened and tore away from the fastener, so I need to figure out a way to get it reattached. And also, one end of the loop strap at the very top of the bag has come undone. This loop strap isn't a big deal as the most it's used for is hanging the bag when empty/not in use, but... I am wondering if these are a sign of what to expect for the rest of the bag. Hopefully there's a number of years left for it to serve me well.

this is just OK, the integrated soft plastics are cheap., i grabbed mine from the top the plastics that hold the handle ripped right away. but it is a cheap alternative to more expensive backpacks, My advise would be if you plan on going on a lot of camping and hiking pay the extra money and get a good one. this is not something to keep for too long.
