so i don't know how to tie one but my friends wife helped us all out did an amazing job for the whole wedding party, looked great!

What I can say in this tie's favor is that it was smooth and silky, but perhaps too smooth and silky. It felt flimsy and it didn't quite hold its shape in the way I would have liked. Having now tried ties from TheTieBar, Marlon Garci, and PenSee, I now know that there are thicker options out there with better, easier to tie material. Ultimately I wouldn't say that it has the it feel that goes into more formal bowties, and I wouldn't recommend this for a true white-tie occasion.There are some things to take into consideration that I wouldn't consider positives or negatives. For example, it's definitely a smaller tie. The material is a bit shiny. The adjustment also does not have any measurements, but this should not be too much of an issue once you find the length that works for you, or if you already have bow ties that have been adjusted to their proper length that you can compare it to.

The bow tie itself is of excellent quality and a perfect size. Tieing it the first time took me about an hour but it looks so much more professional than a clip on. Make the investment!

This was a simple black bow-tie (which for the price, you can't beat). It has an adjustable length, but my minor complaint is that it's a metal buckle and not specifically sized with notches and the material is not really thick so you may need to adjust your bow periodically. That's why I gave it 4 stars. But otherwise it's perfectly suitable for any black tie affair. Not sure how I could rationalize spending 50 or 60 dollars on an expensive one. This one is a great alternative.

read the reviews which were a toss-up between, its fine and its junk, and for a single use and as the price range was dirt cheap and beyond the merit of the occasion, I bought it. The description of christmas ribbon-like fabric was spot on. The looks okay from a distance but is both hard to tie (like ribbon) and very cheap looking up close. But once on its passable...
