We keep a dry erase board by Mom at all times, because she forgets things very easily. This easel allows us to set up the board almost anywhere because it is small enough to fit in tight spaces. It has greatly helped us deal with Mom's dementia.

Bought this for an event where we put small wooden plaques on display.First, the good: clean design, easily set up and compact.And the not-as-good: The holders lock, but easily shift and the tripod legs do not lock in place.What this means is that for heavier things (more than foam core or poster board) it feels a little precarious and might be knocked over in a crowded context. This is not as much about the tri-pod itself as it is about knowing its capacity.

Biggest perk: holds surprisingly large dimensioned items. The biggest I've set on it is 24x30 inches, and that's been stable even when bumped. Could probably go 30x40" and still hold up, so long as the item is under 5 pounds. (Great for foam core display boards, obviously.) Pretty durable. I saved the box it came in for travel protection in luggage.Downside: Does seriously need some snaps between the legs as well as the little snaps that hold up the art. When putting stuff on this easel and taking stuff off, I've had to be really careful that all three feet stay put before allowing the weight of the display item to rest fully on the easel. The back foot has a tendency to slide around and become unstable when the display's weight is not evenly distributed across all three feet. Once the display item is set down properly, the easel is stable. It's just the changing of the display that's the problem.

I wanted to use it to display a neon sign and it works fine. I like that it is adjustable so can work for items of different sizes. The great price didn't hurt either!
