So far, I have made four different recipes with this machine. All of them have come out paddle-licking good. The machine is very easy to use and easy to clean. Although the machine is quite noisy, it only takes 20 to 40 minutes to make a batch. I use the ice cubes straight out of my refrigerator's ice maker. For a quart, this is enough ice. For a larger batch, I do need to remember to make extra ice a day or two before. You really can't get much easier than this!

Yes, the price is comparatively cheap -- but the low price is reflected in the low quality materials and workmanship in the product. After a number of uses, I found one day that it had completely stripped the chintzy aluminum fittings, rendering the machine worthless. But even worse, the metal filings from the stripped parts dropped down inside the canister around the stirring blade, completely ruining a full batch of ice cream! NOT HAPPY.

We have used our ice cream maker twice now and love it. It is best when used with rock salt and cover with blanket around the outside bucket makes the ice cream freeze faster. Would recommend to family and friends.

Love it!!! Big enough to make enough for the whole family, unlike many. We make sugar free ice cream per The Belly Fat Cure, and it's great. If it seems to be broken - ie making noise but not spinning, it's not broken. It's just a little frozen in place from sitting still while the ice/salt is dumped in. Give it a push with your hand, and it takes off. If you are short on ice, pack around with a few bags of frozen veggies, we've never had any trouble doing that in a pinch. One full ice maker bucket from our side-by-side fridge fills the ice cream maker completely if we haven't used the ice dispenser all day. As to the noise some have complained about, it's about as loud as an older dishwasher. If you're watching TV or listening to music in the kitchen, just put it in another room. Otherwise, not a problem. Set it on a towel as you fill in case you spill some ice/salt. No salt-rings on the floor that way. And as to ice crystals, wrap whatever you put the ice cream in in heavy tin foil every time you return it to the freezer, that really cuts down on ice crystals. I highly recommend this maker!
