Loved this as much as the old school gas one I had. Great light source. Really good product.Handle and top get hotter than I remember the old school one getting but I'm probably wrong. Just be aware it can get very hot.Seems pretty efficient and this way I can use the same tanks on my stove, so ... bonus

To be honest I am not sure what the negative reviews are all about. I am a first time propane lantern user and was relying on battery operated lanterns for my camping trips. But those werent very bright and the radius of light was always very small.I was hesitant to go with a propane lantern just because I was scared of using propane fuel and the mantle process .But I finally took the bait and went with this lantern . I saw a few videos on youtube on how to tie and light up the mantle. I found the process very simple and was very pleased with its performance during my camping trip to Grand Canyon.I wanted a simple basic no frills lantern , and this one served the purpose beautifully. If a novice first time user like me can do it, then so can you :-)
