We use these shields for kids in our self defense classes. The are light and not too thick. They really are not that great for hard full body weight hits or kicks by adults. The foam is light and breaks down pretty quick with heavy hitting.

Was pleasantly surprised at the short amount of time in which the product arrived. I've used these shields for many years and have always been pleased with the amount of punishment these shields can take...my only concern is that the product shown is the "older" model, which I was looking forward to using. I called CENTURY and described the shield that arrived, and they stated that it sounded like the "newer" model. basically the newer models have "airholes" built along the sides and top to release air at the point of impact...which I understand, but the shield also has a zipper on the bottom, which makes me wonder if at some point if I decide to do a tornado kick or jump spinning back kick, will the zipper "blow out" or tear open from the force of the kick?

I use this for punching/kicking workouts. This is a typical body shield you'd see in TKD classes or clubs. Fine for adults who are just working out. If you're a massive person or training for professional MMA you might wear this out or find it insufficiently substantial, but for the vast majority of average and athletic human beings it's probably going to be fine.
