I was taking a chance because I couldn't find any information if there were special grooves for this that would prevent it from working with a 12x17. There aren't and it works perfectly with the 12x17 because there is no chance for it to fall out, also the switch for the light pad had a 1.5 inch gap to turn on and off. I really think the craft station this and the 12x17 light pad go together perfectly in my apartment! I also have an arm lamp with the metal arm clamp, I would recommend going to your local or close hardware store and buying a clamp there, the lamp wobbles and has no support to stay left or right.
