Super machine. Comfortable in my hands. Does amazing work and easy to use. I'm sure it will last for many many years if properly treated. Dewalt has always been good quality and you can feel it when using their products.

Works very well when it works. Began cutting out after about 2 hours of work. I re-seated the brushes and it worked for another two hours then started doing the same thing. Overall this is clearly a heavy duty / robust tool as you would expect from Dewalt but it has some cheap electronics or a design flaw that allows compound / polish dust to enter the body and break electrical contact. I haven't fully diagnosed what is wrong with mine but I think it is; 1. Cheap brushes that don't sit well on the armature when it gets hot, or 2. Faulty variable speed switch, or 3. Some issue with dust entering the body breaking electrical connections. 4. Possibly a combination Replacing parts is relatively easy but we shouldn't have to on a brand new Dewalt product. I do wonder if US companies like Dewalt really assess the damage to their brand manufacturing lower quality products in China and Mexico? That $10 production cost saving doesn't mean much long term if people stop buying the brand because its no longer as good as it once was!

It???s a beast for sure! High quality but heavy and takes some getting used to for a nubie. Don???t want to burn through my clear, it has no automatic pressure stop so you have to be careful. Definitely a tool for professional detailers.
