HDMI® Over CAT5E / CAT6 Extender Wall Plate (Pair) w/ Built-In Backward IR Channel - Single Port (1P) - White

The Monoprice HDMI® Extender can extend an HDMI video signal up to 30 meters over two Cat6 ethernet cables run through the walls. This unit supports all NTSC and PAL video resolutions up to 1080p with 24/36 bit Deep Color. It supports LPCM, Dolby®-AC3, DTS® 7.1, and DSD audio signals. This is a passive device, so no power adapter is needed! The wall plates also feature a built-in IR extender system, with all the necessary hardware, so you can control your equipment from the other room using your regular remote control.

Features:

  • Supports High Speed HDMI signals (1080p)
  • Supports Deep Color
  • Passive, no power adapter required
  • Includes IR receiver and transmitter to extend remote control signal
  • Supports single-band IR signals between 39-45 kHz
  • IR cables supplied with unit are 4'10" long
  • FCC and CE Approved

Note: Monoprice strongly recommends the use of minimum 24 AWG HDMI cables when connecting a device, such as this extender, between the source and destination devices to ensure minimal signal loss and maximum High Speed signal reliability.

Note: Although this extender will work with Cat5e UTP cables, Monoprice STRONGLY recommends using Cat6 STP cabling for anything longer than minimal distances. Cat6 STP cabling will provide the highest reliability and signal integrity to ensure that your installation is trouble-free under all conditions for years to come.

Requireslow-voltage mounting brackets (one per wall plate). These are not included!

I bought 2 pairs of the extenders. One to make a 50' run and the other to go 100'. The 50' one is from a computer to an LCD TV and works like a charm - great picture/sound. The 100' one is from a Motorola cable box (Verizon FIOS) to the same LCD TV and works like a charm as well - again, great picture/sound. However, I tried the 100' shielded CAT6 cables on the computer run and these did not work - most likely needs some power booster/stabilizer to make the run. Be wary of the source of the HDMI signal - may or may not work with these units.
