I love these metricstandard measures- easy to read tape and the little writing pad is more useful than you might think for quickly recording dimensions for trim and framing etcIve dropped them from 3 stories yes they get chipped up and dented but they hang together as well as any other makeThe only downside Ive encountered is the black rubber bumper degrades after about a year peeling off and cracking Tape still works fine though

I bought this tape measure soley for the dual markings and its one of the best Ive seen Metric markings are clear and standard side has fractions marked as well Very sturdy and can extend on its own out quite far too before bending which is quite useful maybe 6 feet or so horizontallyThis would be the perfect tape measure for me but my only complaint is that the retract mechanism on the one I have isnt too powerful If the tape is extended out past 10 feet or so it wont retract easily at all you kind of have to feed it back in while holding the lock release button I have to check if I can open it and modify but keep forgetting until Im using it for something and it happens Not too big of a deal though and its still my main tape measure

My kids bent my last measuring tape trying to measure each other and every piece of furniture in the house and the dog and the cat I like this tape measures very explicit fractional measurements They are clear and easy to read Im just not used to the button above the tape for retracting the tape Im more used to the kind that you squeeze from the bottom back side It may take a few projects for this might grow on me

I love having the imperial and metric measurements on the same tape measure makes quick work getting accurate measurements especially if what you need falls in between two hash marks Will be purchasing again if this would happen to fail and will look into purchasing a 12ft version as well

I will only buy tape measures that have both metric and imperial markings because more things use the metric system these days cabinet handles car parts etc) Also it is easier to quickly divide using the metric system its easier to divide the half way point of 300mm vs dividing 11 78 in half)I have several tape measures with both metric and imperial markings Stanley Tajima and some that I bought in Europe) -- but this one has the clearest markings of all of them The fraction labels allow quicker mistake-free readings The plain font on the white background is super crisp and clear under any lighting conditionI dont care about the pencil sharpener or writing pad and I removed the belt clip because it sticks out and I like to just throw the tape measure onto the table top The belt clip removes easily with a screw

like most woodworker handyman ive owned dozen of tape measurers and this one is hands down the best my biggest complaint with the other ones is the belt clip they are always a pain use and a lot of them simply wont grip tight enough to stay secured fastcap fixed that problem ive have 3 of them that i use almost every day and i have never had one problem with any of them like all tape measurers these days its easy to read both metric and standard increments and extends out more than far enough for most of my needs about 6 before you start to have some problems with it bending ive given away all my other tape measures and use fastcap exclusively now
