They work well, but I have to made some modifications due to them touching the side of the roof of the car (even with the HiRise Spacers) on my Mercedes G550. Cannot fault the product for that, except that there are two ridges that seem to be designed in for strength but they are contacting the roof. If the ridges faced towards the outside of the car, it will be less likely to cause damage.

These work great on the JK wrangler. Im running these with 6634; round bars. I use them for hauling paddle boards. This is a great rack for those who don't want the heavy and bulky cage style racks.

These work as described, but I had one major issue, The bolt that tightens the cross bar is screwed into Aluminum ring holding the bar. I mounted Yakima Sweet Roll saddles on the cross bars, and when I would load the kayak, the cross bars would turn in the aluminum ring. I kept tightening the bolt, until one of the aluminum rings stripped out. I had to have it tig welded, drilled and tapped to fix it, other wise it was unusable. In the middle of a trip, there was no other option (i.e., trying to get a replacement). I really believe this is a engineering failure. It uses a steel bolt, but the aluminum that it is screwed into cannot hold the tension needed to prevent the cross bars from spinning in the mount.

I have other Yakima products, so decided to stick with their products with this purchase. Towers are as advertised, heavy duty and good quality. I would suggest following install directions as written by installing cross bars on towers before attaching to vehicle. If you mount towers first, then install cross bars it is very difficult to tighten the cross bar hold down bolts. Do not tighten cross bars all the way until you everything positioned properly on your roof, tighten towers first then cross bars. There is a lot of adjustment of the cross bars needed once it is on top of your roof to get them even.
