I have tried many different fly masks, some with ears and some with the nose, different brands and a variety of sizes. I always seem to come back to the Farnam mask. These masks are secure and hard for the horse to get off. They can get them off, but it is more difficult. They do not seem to rub them like some of the other masks. They have double Velcro and that is an important part on keeping it on!I hate to have to walk around the field and try to find the fly mask!Does it's job well and keeps the flies off of their eyes and face!

This is the second mask I've purchased for my lesson horse. My instructor has a large herd and can't afford all the extras, so I purchased a mask for my horse who suffers bad sunburn. The first mask I purchased(not this brand) was torn off by another horse within two days. My problem with this is that it is a bit small. I did purchase the proper size according to the chart;however, the velcro doesn't reach under her chin as it should. With all that said, my horse still wears it every day without trying to rip it off. I will compare to another brand as far as sizing goes. Update: after a few months of wear, the mask showed some ripping ( horse is kept in a field with access to lots of woods0, but, all in all, I would say was still in good shape. Unfortunately, I got lost in the field some where. I will purchase another of this same product as "Jessie" only took it off twice in the past few months. She obviously likes it.

This fly mask is easy to use, and the velcro straps overlap each other under the horse's jaw, so it's pasture mates cannot pull it off. I use this mask more as a visor for my horse. She has pink over her eyes and is prone to sunburn. It also keeps dust, and pollen from irritating her eyes. With just 2 days of use I have noticed and extreme difference. No sunburn and her eyes have cleared up since dust and pollen have been unable to penetrate the mask. She can see just fine out of it, as she responds to hand signals like she was not wearing anything. Oh, and it works great keeping bugs and flies off their eyes too (obviously). I have no problem putting her rope halter on over this mask either. Money well spent
