I am thrilled with my bat house and couldn't wait for my son to hang it underneath the gable on the barn. The construction is very solid and the appearance very appealing. Now, all I need is a family of fruit bats to move in and take up residence. A great deal for the money.

I bought this gift for my Mother-in-law's birthday. I was apprehensive after reading many reviews on many of these types of bat shelters. Many were received broken or without the correct hanging materials. We got this in perfect condition. It has yet to be hung by my MIL but hopefully soon!

One way to encourage bats to move to your bat box is to take damp soil and fill the bottom of the box. After a few days, empty out the soil and hang the box. This works even better if you use real bat droppings from a nearby bat colony, if you can get them. This process gets rid of the scent of humans that could otherwise be preventing the bats from colonizing your bat house.

The house is decenly constructed. My only complaints would be the low quality wood and poor finishing. The wood was very rough, to the point of being splintered on the cut ends. A little sanding would have been nice.

this is well built & sturdy, looks like it will hold up good & make a nice home for bats, just go it & haven't got it hung up yet so i'm hoping the bats will love it, but for the price I think it is a pretty good deal

This is a well built bat box, but everything I read about bats said that they want a 3/4 space to crawl into. This box had almost a 1 1/2 space. It was easily modified and I'm looking forward to some bats eating all of the mosquitoes around my pond.
