I originally bought the Danner 950 gpm four years ago. It worked fine and still works fine. I needed more powerful pump since i have 4 koi (along with 4 goldfish and a catfish) where the koi eat a lot of produce a lot of waste. I needed more power especially since i added an extra (smaller than the original) waterfall. Given that I put this pump in a large pot covered with lava rock, which keeps a lot of the muck away from the pump, while the rest does go to the bio-filter. This keeps the pump pressure higher for a long period of time. I haven't had to adjust anything in a few weeks. As long as the bacteria levels are kept up so that the muck is broken down, this pump has eliminated a lot of weekly maintenance.

I installed this pump today, and it is very quiet. I cannot tell it is on. The only way I can tell is through the water movement in my tank. This pump is well worth the money. I connected a 3/4FPT to 1 Slip adapter and let the pumping begin. I think I will order a second one to replace another noisy pump in my sump.

Other reviews mentioned plastic prefilter collapsed. Mine came with a plastic insert which has prevented this so far. I have a 400 gal. pond with waterfall feature and this is just right.

This is the second one of these I have bought. The first one lasted at least 6 years under continuous use and would have gone longer if I hadn't broken the impeller housing while trying to remove some leaves that were clogging the intake.

Just upgraded to this pump for my 600-ish gallon pond. I installed it last weekend and it's working beautifully and quietly. One suggestion for Danner: while overall their pumps are sturdy and reliable, the faceplates on them - which includes the output port - are plastic, which becomes a problem with repeated attaching and reattaching of hoses. The threads wear down or get damaged, particularly with metal connectors such as when I hook on my garden hose to drain my pond. My solution has been to permanently keep a plastic hose connector on it as I switch from waterfall line to drainage hose. Still, very happy with this pump and Danner products overall.

This pump came faster than I expected, which made me and my fish very happy. It is stronger than my old pump and I hope it will be beneficial for my pond.

Alot of people have had problem with the pump being loud but mine is very quiet. The efficiency of the pump could be a bit better but its not all that bad especially considered on my 125 gallon tank I would run 4 penguins 350's and a canister filter. I have big cichlids and keep them well fed which why I tend to go over kill on the filtration unit. The pump is being used to run my 75 gallon sump it would be nice if it pumped a little bit more water but thats my fault for not wanting to spend the extra 20 for the 18. Overall its a superb pump and I have used mag drive pumps for the 5 years I have been keeping fish.

You can never go wrong with a pond master pump. Spend a little more and have the confidence that it will outlast all the lower cost pumps, you would rather enjoy the aquarium or pond rather then always replacing a bad pump.

The pump in the 2months of use was easily installed and has worked nonstop 24/7 perfectly. The filter or pre filter in the picture was not the one I found on opening the package. The one received was the rigid style, actually a better type I think.

Used to own the 1800 gph of this same pump but it died due to a bad setup after almost ten years. Bought a few less expensive pumps to replace and they did not work as well or last but a few years at best. This 1200gph has really helped keep the water flowing through the filters to keep our pond clear and clean. Great product.
