This is well constructed and holds up to the elements. I have hanging on a fence post connected to a 12 volt car battery and it is working just as advertised

This is the most dependable charger I have used. I have been using one since 1996. They are very dependable.

Cons: These things only appear to work for ~8 years. I've had two of them cr8p out on me at exactly 8 years of age.Regardless, they work well. The dial tells you when it's time to recharge the battery. If you don't buy this model, make sure and buy another that has a voltage meter on it. The shock it gives is substantial - at least on a quarter-mile line. Not damaging. But it makes you not want to touch it again. Similar to touching a spark plug while it's firing.

Great little fence charger for price. Already had one just like this one and purchased this used. It keeps my horses in check and the 12-volt battery lasts a long time.

Haven't been able to find this kind of fencer in the stores around here and needed something that would last more than one season. So far, so good!

I had one of these for over a decade; it finally went kapoot. I have gone to a digital output reader simply because the power dial stopped working about 2 yrs ago even though the unit itself kept on ticking. Good output for my 5 acres of pasture with horses. I did have to make sure it was GROUNDED well - that is essential for any charger - and it was simple to change fuses (when you can find them). Good unit for the money but keep a multiple band fence checker on hand. I also put it in a cheap plastic storage box to keep the rain off it outdoors.
