Omix-Ada License Plate Bracket, Stainless, 76-86 Cj

Got this to replace the rusted out original bracket on a 1986 Jeep CJ-7. It is the "exact" same dimensions as the original, (though slightly thicker), which is really not a problem, nor a bad thing. Also being stainless, it has, and hopefully will, weather the elements much better than the plain steel original. Depending upon the type of license plate mounting screws/bolts you use, you may or may not need to bend your bracket, however with the type of bolts that I used to mount my license plate, I needed to make a couple of bends in the vertical bar to give greater depth displacement to the horizontal bracket from the body of the jeep. While the process of bending the bracket was a bit strenuous (due to the thickness and strength of the stainless steel), it was manageable and came out quite nicely (looks like factory). I am very pleased with this bracket and compared with others I've looked at prior to purchasing this one, I'm quite happy with my choice. I could have paid much more for ones which were NOT stainless, whereas this is the best of both, less expensive AND stainless steel!! Can't beat it, I don't think you will be disappointed if you choose this product either.
