You will need a small portable battery with which to run this, but you can pick one up at a hobby shop. This puppy inflates my 9 foot dinghy in just a couple of minutes. I have an air floor that is high-pressure, and I have to finish that off with the foot pump, and this is a high volume, but low pressure pump. But that's ok.The only down side is the volume -- it's a real screecher, so you might want to use ear protection while using it.

I have only used this once, but is totaly worth the price. Lots of air come out of this one. All depends on where I go and what inflatable I am using, but this works great in saving me from blowing them up by hand. Very good quality.

The Rule inflator/deflator is nearly half the price of the LVM product and works perfectly. It inflates my 9' pontoon in less than 3 minutes, although a quick top off with a hand pump to reach 3 psi is required. It looks somewhat cumbersome but fits the hand well and has a large variety of adapters. Fortunately I have Bravo values and don't need an adapter--the extension from the pump works fine.Rule has been around a long time, and makes pretty good products. I've always had Rule bilge pumps and they've never failed. This pump has a good quality feel even though it's made overseas. The only reason I chose a 4 star rating was that unlike most pumps, the adapters must be broken off the plastic holder to use. It would be better if the holder was flexible because some will certainly be lost.I see no advantage to opting for the LVM over this one, however the LVM longevity may be superior. Too early to tell. They appear to be virtually identical. Highly recommended

Unfortunately the item received was not the UK made version, but rather made in China. It did not have the capacity that that the original UK versions I have seen and used (other peoples' unit.) The picture posted listed the UK version but the China version was delivered. I returned the unit.

You can read my full inflator review here (scroll down about 1/2 way where the picture of the inflator is)-[...]PRO's1. It fills a 3-person towable to the correct pressure without topping off with a hand pump within just a few minutes.2. Small and compact.3. Has a long power cord.CON'S1. It's louder than most (all are loud).2. You must connect it directly to the 12V battery posts (don't even try adapting it for use with a cigarette lighter, as it pulls up to least you'll blow a fuse and at worst you're to likely burn up the wiring in your car, RV, boat, or whatever you plug it into).3. The switch may arc and fuse in the "ON" position, so that the only way to turn it off is to disconnect it. When it's reconnected, there's a big spark.4. Has a weird rectangular fitting from the inflate/deflate port to the adapter. If you lose that, you're dead (you can buy these, though).I would've given it 5 stars but for the fact of the sticking switch. You cannot just "bump" (quick taps) the switch. It needs to be held down, then released when done. I'm keeping mine.

I've tried other pumps and they are either weak and feeble or loud and unreliable. This one connects directly to the battery terminals, pumps fast and at a reasonable noise level. It inflates my Sea Eagle 12ft boat in just a few minutes at a high enough pressure to use without top-up. I recommend this air pump.
