I have been exercising and losing weight recently, so I wanted to see how much of it is fat. I have been using this at home, and have been using the 3-point method because I measure myself and therefore cannot get back measurements. I have been using an online calculator (http://www.linear-software.com/online.html) instead of the book. It took some practice, but my measurements are becoming more precise, but not sure about the accuracy. For me, the caliper method matches pretty closely with the tape measure method. Both put me at about 13% a month ago and 12% at the time of this review. Looking in the mirror, I would guess I went from 15% to 14%. So, they are probably good for measuring a change over time, but not necessarily for getting an absolute and accurate number.The caliper itself seems pretty durable for hard plastic, and the price is right.
