Anyone who has ever used a lensatic compass will love this item. The design insures that if used properly, sighting line in the slit, your objective intersected by the sighting line, and the compass dial observed through the adjustable lens prism (I call it the peep hole) you will be forced to take an accurate bearing with a perfectly balanced compass. I purchased this compass initially for the price as a gift for my son. After taking a set of 10 bearings at varying distances and double checking them with horizontal angles from a mk25 sextant, I found that I was never off by more than 2 degrees. At $14.95 you can not expect to find a better value than this. I will buy another one, Or two.
