This is a very small maize bag - compared to some maize bags used in Europe. It seems to be a good quality leather bag for the cost. I filled the bag with corn inside of several plastic grocery bags. Sand or beans could also be a good fill material. I strike the maize bag bare knuckle - something I have done for years. However; with bare knuckle striking, I recommend a thin layer of padding underneath the leather shell. The padding could consist of several unfilled plastic grocery bags, foam rubber, etc. Also, when filling the maize bag, leave a little bit of space at the top for the corn, etc. to have some give to it when struck.
