Just bought this brand for the first time over ExoTerra brand. Which only lasted about 56 days. We shall see how long this last. Update: It is now Aug.1 and my light is still working!!! :)

I use this for my Asian box turtle's habitat. It usually lasts for about 6 months. This is a fair price.

These work well for 24 hour heat for my leopard gecko's terrarium. It is a small terrarium, 18x18x12(h). Keeps it at around 90 degrees F when the light fixture sits on the top of the terrarium. At night, of course, casts everything in the terrarium with a red glow...but, hey, much cheaper than the local pet stores sell them for!

This item is not really necessary since Russian Tortoises do not need nighttime heat but I do like the fact that if the temperature drops below 55 degrees, I can use this bulb at night without disturbing my pet's sleep cycle.

I first started using Zoo Med Heat Lamp bulbs in March of 2012. I have two different brands of heat lamps one is a Zoo Med Deluxe Dimmable Clamp Lamp with 8.5-Inch Dome, Black model and the other is a similar model without the dimmer switch made by Fluckers, that I purchased at a local pet supplies store. Heat bulbs in both units remain on 24/7. Over the last year I've used two bulbs in the Fluckers unit. Each lasted me about six months. I've just had to replace the heat bulb in the Zoo Med Dimmer Lamp. I have the dimmer switch turned down a bit so the bulb isn't getting full power. Both of their cages keep a temperature between 72 to 76 degrees Fahrenheit during the winter months and 78 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer months. I rely a lot on these bulbs and so far they've done their job for longer than expected. Very happy with them.
