Works as well as a small, handheld trimmer would work. That being said, it does (and will) clog easily with certain types of hair. I only use this to trim the hair in my dog's paw pads and ears. Great for finishing touches, but not recommended for use elsewhere. (Not really sure how it would be used on a horse as their coat is going to be short and coarse, but I've never used on a horse, so maybe there are uses for it.)

Small, lightweight and effective. It is perfect for canine face shaving or foot trimming, but do not expect it to work any where else. It is a very nice addition to my large shaver for my small dog.

Bought this to replace my dog's other touch-up trimmer. Just what I needed for those quick touch-ups between professional groomings!

I've used these for years. They aren't very powerful, as you might guess, with only 1 AA battery, and the blade is only about 1" wide, but that makes it PERFECT for the sensitive areas, between legs and near eyes. I clip my dog with a regular cliper and what it can't reach (my dogs are small, so need these for the knots under the belly, and legs). It's great if you just hold the clump (knotted up) hair, pull down gently and use this clipper's blade to get between knot and skin. This way dog doesn't get accidentally knicked by scissors and hair is off in a jiffy.

I love how light this clipper is and it does a very good job, I wish it was a bit more quiet.

This little pocket clipper is great for trims on pups sanitary areas. It's all I ever use it for so I don't need all the attachments. My first one lasted for several years. I hope this one does too.
