Great size for my syrian hamster! He is a little bit on the small size, but he stands in it pretty much flat, and he doesn't need to arch his back at all. I haven't been able to figure out how to remove the wheel from the stand to attach it to the cage though... which in a way is good, because I don't have to worry about it falling off.

I have no complaints for this wheel. We have had it for close to 2 years now. It was noisy in the beginning, but I just dripped some olive oil on that area and it has been fine ever since. My daughter owns a Syrian hamster who is nearly 2 years old. Her cage is in my daughters room and she is never woken by it. Her room is directly above ours and we have no complaints either. Great wheel!

It is large enough for Syrians, is not wire so their little feet are more protected against bumble foot. Only our little Sammy cant have one because he does get the sores on foot pads, (the wheel must be working for them because he cant seem to stop even if his feet are injured) so he has been cut off from use. Does make a lot of noise, and with 4 of them going at night...ugh it can be disturbing. But hamster heels are kind of lacking in one area or another so overall we are still fine with this and its the best Ive found so far.

first off i have two comfort wheels, the large and the giant. They're both in use: the giant is in the top half of a divided Critter Nation cage being used by a small colony rats. the large size is in the bottom half and belongs to a lone syrian hamster. both make noise but it is not a piercing squeak. the rats have a very jerky gait and hop and bounce and speed up and hit the brakes all very suddenly so naturally their wheel, the giant, sounds like a thunder storm. my hamster runs very smoothly and steadily so his wheel just hums. the noise can be irritating but both types of pet are benefiting and being kept from boredom. and they're safe from toe injury!

Overall my Syrian hamster loves this wheel. It is a pain in the butt to get it attached to the side of the cage (pull white stand out of holes on back of wheel and then pull the center out and reattach with center part on back of wheel on the outside of the cage and wheel inside of cage. I had to look up on google how to attach it to the side of the cage. I ended up putting it back on the stand because my hamster was running his wheel into the side of the cage in front of him.)
