If my cats were writing this review, they would give this brush five stars and tell you to buy one for each cat in the house. They are in love with this thing. One in particular will take every opportunity to pull it out of its storage place and lick, bite and rub all over it. They all love to rub their cheeks on it when it is lying on the floor and come running eagerly and compete for my attention when I start using it on one of them.I was worried at first that the wires in the brush would be scratchy and uncomfortable, but my cats' behavior quickly put that worry to rest. I think what my cats love most is actually the slight scratching sensation and skin massage that this thing provides. That works out well for the three younger cats I have, but creates a bit of a mess with my oldest. My oldest shorthair cat has an issue with dandruff, and while he still loves this brush and will try to bump his big head between it and any cat I'm brushing, it severely exacerbates the dandruff issue. These brushes are designed to stimulate skin circulation and remove dead cells and boy does it do a good job at loosening dandruff flakes! After brushing him, his fur is full of flakes and this brush fails to remove them. I have to follow up with a flea comb to get him reasonably clean again so he doesn't shed his flakes all over the house. For a few days after a good brushing session, he will shed much more dandruff than before. The brush does get out quite a bit of fur during spring and fall, especially with my longhair cat, though the shedding comb I have does a better job.
