..this has served me well for four cats with medium to shor hair for many years now--however I have always hated the sharp cornes on the comb frame as it means one must be extra careful when manuvering around legs, ears and such. I would strongly suggest purchasing one with rounded corners as I am now going to do. (Four Paws has one listed here and I have had good luck with the brand). Also the rectangular body is made of light cheap sheet steel that can get bent/kinked fairly easy and compromised slightly. The bristles are designed very well and I reap massive fistfulls of fur from my cats during sheading season. One of my gf's was amazed how little fur I had in my house--it's not because I'm a good house keeper--maybe I'm a 'good cat keeper' tho. :)

I brush my long-haired cat with this and he's gotten used to it. plays with it even! Not painful, easy to get the hair out, YEAH hair 'flies' everywhere, but it's a brush, that happens, and it's a very minimal amount...not even worth mentioning.Great size and gets the job done

My cats often develop mats in their fur. With a little brushing with the slicker brush they disappear. It does tend to pull at the mat, so it's better to brush frequently to avoid them than to yank the mats out manually. It does a great job collecting extra hair that gets shed all over my home and clothes.

We received the cat brush right on time, and undamaged. My husband is the one who uses it, and he feels that the bristles are stiff but that they will soften with time and use. So far, we are glad we got it.

My cat loves this brush. If the cat is happy then I am happy. It does remove excess hair/fur which helps reduce the fallout on my furniture and the number of hairballs expelled by the cat. Seems to be well made.

If my cats were writing this review, they would give this brush five stars and tell you to buy one for each cat in the house. They are in love with this thing. One in particular will take every opportunity to pull it out of its storage place and lick, bite and rub all over it. They all love to rub their cheeks on it when it is lying on the floor and come running eagerly and compete for my attention when I start using it on one of them.I was worried at first that the wires in the brush would be scratchy and uncomfortable, but my cats' behavior quickly put that worry to rest. I think what my cats love most is actually the slight scratching sensation and skin massage that this thing provides. That works out well for the three younger cats I have, but creates a bit of a mess with my oldest. My oldest shorthair cat has an issue with dandruff, and while he still loves this brush and will try to bump his big head between it and any cat I'm brushing, it severely exacerbates the dandruff issue. These brushes are designed to stimulate skin circulation and remove dead cells and boy does it do a good job at loosening dandruff flakes! After brushing him, his fur is full of flakes and this brush fails to remove them. I have to follow up with a flea comb to get him reasonably clean again so he doesn't shed his flakes all over the house. For a few days after a good brushing session, he will shed much more dandruff than before. The brush does get out quite a bit of fur during spring and fall, especially with my longhair cat, though the shedding comb I have does a better job.
