Works perfectly. All my life I have avoided this gadget. Now I have purchased this air popper because I was tired of making a mess the traditional way with oil and the micro. I am more than happy though I wake up now with popcorn in my bed and between my teeth.Don't get one if you want to keep a clean bed.

I bought this thing at the end of January and used it a total of 5 times. I started it up and in about 15 seconds there was a huge cloud of smoke and the motor died. I am deeply disappointed in this product and saddened to see that here are not many alternatives to this unit available.

My husband uses the Presto 04821 Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper several times a week. We enjoy the popcorn without the additional calories from butter and oil and do not use any salt. It makes great popcorn and leaves very few unpopped kernels. Great product. I would recommend the purchase of this item.

Like many other reviewers, I grew up with a hot air popper. In recent years, I have made microwave popcorn. After seeing several articles about the dangers of microwave popcorn, I decided to purchase a hot air popper. Besides, we have a 4 year old and this is much more interactive for him rather than standing a safe distance from the microwave while that pops. The hot air popper has been used 5 times in our home so far. We use a bowl with a wide mouth and have no problems with popcorn missing the mark. Just as when I was a child, it is easier to melt butter another way instead of using the butter well. We add a little butter and a little sea salt and the popcorn does not stand a chance during movie night. I think it tastes much better than microwave popcorn. Bon appetit!

When I was growing up my Dad had an Orville Redenbacher that popped the perfect bowl of popcorn, only one or two un-popped kernels it had an on/off switch, the popcorn spun in and a metal butter melter. Unfortunately this isn't the same one. It pops almost all of the kernals, spits out about 8 or 9 when it first starts and some un popped get mixed in with the rest of the bowl. I wish it had an on/off switch and metal melter. I don't use the plastic butter metal/measuring cup to melt butter, getting butter off plastic sucks. It way out performs my last popper which melted, it was a toast master that I got cheap at Target, it spun the kernels but spit out over half un popped. So this gets 4 stars for way outperforming the toastmaster but only 4 cause its not the same one that lasted my dad over 20 years.
