Thera-Band® Soft Weights were developed as a soft, easy grip weight system. The uniform 4.5" diameter and pliable surface provides easy hold for one hand or two hand activities. The Soft Weights can be used singly or in pairs instead of dumbells for strengthening, balance training, mobilization and functional grip strength development. The balls are great, I wish you had 8 & 10 lb. The diameter of the balls are perfect for the size of a woman's hand. It makes working out more interesting because you are using different muscle groups than dumbells. I like this product so much I searched for 8 & 10 lbs & was disappointed that I could not find them in this size.

I am using these in a variety of ways to improve strength after surgery for a major rotator cuff tear. Rehab can take almost a year - it's crazy how much strength you use - so finding tools like this to recover is really important. I use them for different strength exercises - not just lifting, but rolling up the wall and down, rotating the cuff while holding the ball in different overhead and angled positions. They are making a huge difference and can be used while watching TV - so you get more reps in without having to stop everything.
