Product Description
Dual-Band Cellular/PCS Wireless Mobile Amplifier with Smart Technology (TM). Allows the benefit of an external antenna and up to 3 Watts output power without a physical connection to the cell phone. (801201 - Cell Phone Amplifier/Repeater)
Detailed Description Wilson Cellular In-Vehicle Amplifiers extend cellular services in poor coverage areas by amplifying both transmit and receive signals. The amplifier reduces problems with signal fades and dropped calls while improving voice quality, service range and access. Wilson Cellular amplifiers are network-compatible and enhance the cellular phone user's satisfaction without compromising the operation of the cellular system.
Note: The 801201 vehicle repeater does not include the exterior vehicle antenna. For maximum performance, we highly recommend the Antenex Phantom.
Features: Passes TIA/EIA-98-E Transmit test for evaluation CDMA Cellular Phones Power Control Logic ensures maximum output power is within Cellular Standards Allows multiple phones to be used simultaneously Allows cellular phone to operate properly with all types of modulations including CDMA Maximum 3 Watts output power Designed for all cellular systems: AMPS, CDMA, EDGE, GPRS, GSM and TDMA (not compatible with Nextel/iDEN) Automatic Gain Control Overload Protection Circuit - Protects cell system from overload Automatic Reset - if overload occurs FCC Type Accepted
What are the benefits of Wilson Cellular Wireless Mobile Amplifiers?
The Wilson Cellular Wireless Amplifiers allow one or more users to benefit from an outside antenna and amplifier without a physical connection to the cell phone. This eliminates the need for an external antenna connection on the cell phone.
Two Installation Options:
Option A: The inside antenna (interior low profile antenna) should be mounted 1 foot or less from where the phone is to be used. The best place to mount the inside antenna is shoulder height on the side of the drivers seat. The closer the inside antenna is placed to the phone, the better the performance. Do not mount the interior antenna within 4" of metal. Option B: For convenience, the small mini antenna (359914) can be directly attached to the phone and will perform similar to an 811201 - Dual Band Direct Connect Amplifier. The mini antenna must be connected directly to the back of the phone using the included velcro. It must be located as close to the phone's antenna as possible. The mini antenna will not work when away from the phone as the interior low profile antenna will. Connect the mini antenna (359914) to the amplifier using the included 6' extension cable. NOTE: You can only use the included mini antenna (359914) - you absolutely must not directly connect the amplifier to the phone using any other adapter. Doing so will damage your phone. Wireless Cell Phone Amplifier vs Direct Connection Amplifier?
The Wilson Cellular Wireless Amplifiers and Direct Connection Cell Phone Amplifiers perform comparably in urban situations. Both amplifiers transmit up to 3 Watts of power to the cell site and receive a signal as weak as -110dBm. For rural applications, the direct connect (inline) cell phone amplifier will perform better and is recommended.
Does the Wilson Cellular Wireless Mobile Amplifier affect a carrier's cell site?
Wilson Cellular's Wireless Mobile Amplifiers have Smart Technology that automatically adjusts the power based upon the cell site's requirements. This patent pending technology ensures that the power to the cell site is within the carrier's specifications.
Includes:

Recommend Wilson Cellular Dual-Band Magnetic Mount antenna or NMO (through-the-roof) Mount antenna Wilson Cellular Dual-Band Glass Mount antenna not recommended. Notes:
The 801201 Mobile Cell Phone Repeater uses different power supplies than the previous amplifiers. You can not use the older power supplies 859903, 859904 or 859905. Compatibility:
Compatible with all 800MHz Cellular and 1900MHz PCS providers (CDMA, TDMA, GSM, Analog). For example, Verizon, Cingular, Alltel, US Cellular, Midwest Wireless, Cellular One, Western Wireless, Sprint PCS, T-Mobile, Qwest and many more Not compatible with iDEN (Nextel, Southern LINC, Mike)
Specifications Part Number 801201 Frequency 824-894MHz, 1850-1990MHz Gain (up/down) 40dB / 40dB Linear Output Power +30dBm Max Output Power 3 Watts (Cell Site Controlled) Max RF (up/down) +35dBm / +10dBm Noise Figure (down) 3dB Nominal Flatness +/- 4dB Isolation > 90dB Power Consumption 6V, 0.5A - 1.5A (subject to Uplink Power) Connectors FME Male, 50 Ohms Dimensions 4.5 * 3.5 * 1.25 (inch) Weight 1.5 lbs
Application Note: Mobile cell phone repeaters are great for use in urban areas where you are experiencing dropped calls and poor connections. For usage in rural areas where signal is worse, a direct connect (inline) cell phone amplifier will perform much better.
